That's pretty amazing. My boys, aged 8, 8 and 11, are Minecraft junkies. They've been bugging the shit out of me to set up a Tekkit Classic server for them, but I have no idea how to do it, with he mods and all.

It's not that hard to set up a Tekkit server. The hard part is understanding Tekkit.

I bet it does. Is there a Linux version of Minecraft? It runs on java doesn't it, so I guess there would be a version for Linux.

Yeah a bit. Noy really played, just messed around on his maps, digging into the ground and stuff. In a way, the pointlessness of it reminds me of Animal Crossing, which I would rather play.

Animal Crossing is also amazing. It's really hard to compare the two, though. I dunno. I just like exploring and inventing things in Minecraft.

It's a fun sandox game actually, but it all depends on how big of a gaming geek you are I guess. That being said though, there are TONS of girls who play Minecraft, girls that aren't into gaming at all otherwise.

Anywho, if you wanna learn/see more about this game, you should check out some videos of it on youtube.

Aureylian is a gamer that makes this game look awesome (but she's playing on a modpack server)

I've set up a vanilla MC server before, and it was simple. It's installing the mods that I haven't figured out yet.

I'd probably enjoy it more if I had more time to spend playing it. I don't really "get into" video games anymore, not like I used to. My parents were going to split up at onw point and the day my mom broke the news to me I immersed myself in the original Animal Crossing. I played it that whole day and it took my mind off it.

I do. From time to time (I get bored with it then it goes away for a few months them I play for like a month straight...) I have it for PC and Xbox, but I am pretty horrible at PC controls.

I haven't messed with it in quite a while, but I did get in to tekkit pretty good. It took a lot of wiki to get the basics.

I'm sure it's not too bad. I've looked at various websites that explain it, it's just that all the sites assume a working knowledge of MC and MC terminology, and I have neither. It's also a Windows thing, and I don't have much Win experience. Or patience. I'll figure it out one of these days.

I watch him play it all the time. He's become like a strategy guide for it. Maybe if I had more time for games I could get into it. As it stands, I prefer "quick" games like COD or GTA.
